I’ve taken on lots of roles in my journalism career: writer, editor, copywriter, copyeditor, social media specialist, communications strategist, Oxford comma supporter, Oxford comma denier…it’s been a wild ride. To read more, check out my About page.

What do you want to Learn more about?

  • Right now, I’m a reporter for The Story Exchange, a digital publication headquartered in New York City that emphasizes stories about women in business, as well as tech, science, politics, sports, the arts and activism. I’ve written both daily and feature stories for every vertical and have built up a roster of sources from each one. I’ve also helped out with our social media and our podcast.

  • In September of 2022, I participated in the Fulbright Berlin Capital Program for journalists. During my time in Germany, I learned about the German media landscape through parliament visits, a climate rally, a tour of the Stasi archives, newsroom visits and countless panel Q&As. By engaging in conversations about the role media plays in Germany’s young democracy, and even in Europe as a whole, I learned the most effective strategies for translating the news from one side of the Atlantic to the other.

  • I worked in the corporate communications department of Wakefern, where I fine-tuned my journalistic skills through copywriting and copyediting. I pumped out multiple stories per week for our digital newsletter, which was sent out to Wakefern employees (there are 80,000!). Day to day, I assisted each division with their specific communications needs. I also got to assist with a professional video shoot.

  • I was awarded a grant from the Renée Crown Honors Program to travel to Hawaii in summer 2021 to report on the TMT/Mauna Kea conflict. I stayed on the farm of a local couple and spent 2 weeks interviewing native Hawaiians, astronomers, activists, and other locals. I built a website with an interactive map, 15 stories and original photography.

  • I graduated magna cum laude with a major in newspaper & online journalism and a minor in Spanish. I wrote and edited for a variety of publications, from The Daily Orange to POPSUGAR, and reported everywhere from downtown Syracuse to the Thousand Islands up in Canada. Recently, I was a panelist in a Newhouse NYC event and gave guidance to new graduates.

  • I served as the head of social media for Hopeprint, a Syracuse-headquartered organization that helps refugee communities to thrive. I attended meetings and functions as a photographer and as a helping hand. I created photo and video posts for social media platforms and wrote lengthy captions to engage the outer community. I also helped plan the annual Culture Gala.
